I am 24 years old married woman, like many I have Harry Potter series after unfufilling unfufilling series for the last year trying to find something to fill the gap, to read. Percy Jackson and the Olympians is fantastic. I must say I liked the second and third pound a little more than the first. It was colorful and fun, the Lightning Thief. What did you to Harry Potter in this book, but it is no coincidence, counterfeiters, the money-maker, so that other lines (* cough cough Charlie Bone have tried and Septimus Heap, to name a few). This is completely original and you will find the same love of Camp Half-Blood to Hogwarts. Although this book is for children are full of substance. It has substance, it can be thoughtful characters, interesting plots, and a complex world can not get enough. I had a hard time putting the book down. I can not wait for the next book to come, so I can immediately start again. My cousin recommended it to me, and I just can not thank you enough. Thanks again Debbie!

    4. Class son who does not like to read absolutely loves this series. I can not stop reading to him, it is reading instead of television, video games, outdoors, etc. I have a few chapters of each of the 4 and have well written, funny and full of action / adventure. Great books!

I bought this set for my daughter who is a fan of Greek mythology, and I enjoy at the end itself. Like the “Harry Potter” and “Narnia” series, these books appeal to readers of all ages. Also appreciated the prominent female with strong characters.

Some of the plot twist I have little on the predictable side, but I still think the books were very entertaining.

Almost like the Potter series, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians generated” is full of adventure and suspense, heroic deeds and achievements. Imagine a 10-year-old in the modern United States, who suddenly discovers that his life to understand, is Greek mythology – gods, since all the relatives, and one is your Father. Percy has to fight monsters, and discover some truths about themselves in this process.
The books are a welcome shift towards learning the Greek myths, and the case projects. Olympus allocation in today’s New York City (the 600th floor of the Empire State Building) – and Hades in Los Angeles – created an entirely new look out on American culture from the perspective of a young man just trying to life outside.
My daughter and I swallowed the first three books for less than 2 weeks. They all found new wealth of Greek mythology for the first time and I am a fun remember everything.
You should be the first book before the movie comes out to read! You will not regret.

The poster really this thread into a discussion on the books for the fifth grade. But I’ve decided to also fit in a review, so here it is. ) I feel (as a mother and as a teacher, that this series is great for all of the strong fourth-grade readers through the eighth grade and beyond.

Now my son 14 years old I was with this order: New, by Rick Riordan. The Olympians have obviously moved Olympus over the years to the West course of civilization – in fact, Olympus is now floating about the Empire State Building in New York! The main characters are introduced Percy (Perseus) Jackson, the demigod (Demigod), the first book, “The Lightning Thief”. The first book is not so good as to follow, but this is mainly because that is the first of all the characters and the background has a lot to offer quickly.

Each additional book covers some of the time (well, usually a summer) from Adventures of Percy. These generally begin with Camp Half-Blood, a magically protected space in Long Sound Iceland for the Greek-Roman gods, half-human children. Who needs the special summer camp for the protection of all the monsters and bad that we did not because of the “fog” that we understand what we are only in a way that makes sense for us to see see mortals. Thus the evil substitute teacher is actually a harpy, remove the other half of the blood. :-)
    ; introduced
The creative and interesting series or strengthen old myths of Greek and Roman mythology, and do a beautiful job of painlessly increasing cultural competence in the “history of western culture. “In fact is there are many legends apart, and as is the case that the Olympics have always existed, and the only thing moving the lights every few hundred years, maintains the integrity of the great civilizations in many continents. Really an awesome series , prepared especially for extremely competent, but not under circumstances that readers in the 8th grade and higher.
