Fat Smash Diet

Dr. Ian Smith created a television show for VH1 called Celebrity Fit Club, in which celebrities competed to lose weight, and along with the show created a diet called the fat smash diet. The diet is based on changing bad habits in both eating and exercise.

Ian Smith’s resume prior to creating the fat smash diet is impressive. He’s Harvard educated, consults on health for a number of television shows, and is on the board for the American Council on Exercise. He also created the TV show that was centered around his fat smash diet.

The fat smash diet is separated into four phases designed to smash bad habits and create new healthy habits. These phases are:

OneĀ  detox: People can lose as much as 10 pounds in nine days by removing negative food and spiritual influences from their lives. This phase includes some strange but ineffective suggestions such as weighing yourself in the nude and being photographed in a bathing suit.

Two foundation: Some foods removed during detox are reintegrated during this three week phase in the smash diet. These include the 3 ounces of meat or seafood, and is based on portion control rather than calorie count.

Three construction: This lasts for four weeks on the fat smash diet, during which the person develops a healthy eating plan that includes foods they like. These foods can include desserts, pasta, bread, and many other foods restricted another types of diets such as the Atkins diet. In the fat smash diet moderation is the key.

Four Temple: This part of the fat smash diet lasts a life time. The temple built in the first three phases must now be maintained through will power and control.

Overall the fat smash diet is just OK. Those 10 pounds lost in phase one are due to an unhealthy low caloric intake. Many experts find that nine day detox phase to be troubling. However the lessons of moderation and exercise proposed by the fat smash diet are good ones.
